At a City of Brentwood meet and greet on October 20, 2025, G. Harold Duffey cited the greatest achievement in his 30-year career as hiring a consultant and attending a SBCTA meeting on the $105M Barton Road Interchange Project. Research shows that while located in Grand Terrace, this was in fact a Caltrans construction project, with right of way managed by the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority, coordinated through San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG), in cooperation with the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC). Please note G. Harold Duffey is not affiliated with this construction project other than it took place within the jurisdiction of his employer.
Interstate 215/Barton Road Interchange Improvement Project
The project was actually planned and approved before Duffey was even hired at Grand Terrace in June 2015. He was no more involved in this project than the children of Grand Terrace Elementary School noted in the project update below. It is just silly for a City Manager or Mayor of a 14,000 resident community to take any credit for a Caltrans highway construction project, let alone cite it as the pinnacle of their 30-year career.
